SECLCA was created to develop a connected and cohesive community of learning center professionals within the state of South Carolina. The first annual meeting was held June 13, 2014 in Columbia, SC, at the Inn at USC. At the second conference, held June 12, 2015 at Winthrop University, the group voted to expand membership to learning center professionals in the tri-state area of North/South Carolina and Georgia. The new name is the Southeastern College Learning Center Association (SECLCA).

The Southeastern College Learning Center Association (SECLCA) and Meredith College are excited to host the 11th Annual Conference in Raleigh, North Carolina this June!

2024 SECLCA Concurrent Session Proposal Form

*Proposals are due by Monday, April 5, 2024.  Notifications of acceptance will be made no later than Friday, April 12, 2024.*

The Southeastern College Learning Center Association (SECLCA) regional conference is designed to broaden our conversations about best practices on our campuses and will include a keynote address, concurrent sessions, and networking opportunities with other learning center professionals across our region.

This year's conference theme will be "Navigating the Future of Learning: Bridging Gaps with Technology and Innovation". Successful concurrent session proposals should attempt to touch upon any of these key areas:

• ALinAI: Actual Learning in the time of Artificial Intelligence

• Academic Integrity and Artificial Intelligence: Preparing for the Future

• Learning Assistance and Technology: Online Resources and Innovation

Proposals may also focus on learning center retention and graduation initiatives, programs, and services that serve as a foundation and/or a springboard for their student population's, center's, and/or institution's academic success.

• Professional conference registration with individual SECLCA membership ($100.00 on or before May 15th)
• Professional conference registration with individual SECLCA membership ($125.00 after May 15th)
• Professional conference registration with separate institutional membership ($75) - Institutional Membership can be purchased at https://forms.gle/LP4auTQJhRvkWWq38. 

Conference Registration and SECLCA Membership

NOTE:  Professional Conference registration requires purchase of an individual membership (can be rolled into conference fees below) OR separate purchase of an institutional membership (cannot be rolled into conference fees below). The membership year runs from June 1st through May 31st. (June 1, 2023 - May 31, 2024)

Scholarship Information

The SECLCA Executive Board reserves money each year to support conference attendees who do not receive funding from their institutions. All applications are reviewed by a committee specifically made to avoid conflicts of interest.

Please complete this form as an application for scholarship funds to attend the 2024 SECLCA Conference at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina on June 6th and 7th. All scholarship funds will be distributed at the discretion of the SECLCA Budget Committee. The deadline to submit applications is April 19th, 2024.

We will respond to all applications by April 26th, 2024.

Information about Meredith’s Campus

Here are the directions and map. The official address of Meredith College is 3800 Hillsborough St, Raleigh, NC 27607. GPS apps should take people to the Hillsborough Street entrance which will go straight to the guard house and traffic circle.

From the main entrance:

Go through the gates to the traffic circle and take the third exit (essentially a left turn) toward the Oaks Apartments and the Alumni House. Follow South Campus Drive to West Campus Drive and make a left into Parking Lot #6. 

From Parking Lot #6 on the map, cross West Campus to go to the Cate Student Center. Registration and Kresge Auditorium are in the Cate Student Center.
